Sahara Kenya Project operates from the UK. The project has been set up to help the elderly and poor people in Kenya overcome their suffering endured due to lack of life's basic necessities.

We organise fundraising events and the money raised helps with our activities that include providing housing and shelter to the elderly, poor and homeless people in Kenya.

We are a non-political organization and the charity receives no government funding.

‘Sahara Kenya Project’ believes that it is simply a human right to have basic essentials such as clean water, shelter and food. The project was set up after a trip to Kenya where a retired couple were shocked at the appalling conditions homeless people now lived in. The charity organises events to raise funds which then help with the following activities:

• Giving food to people in poverty - young or old - those who lack even the most basic essentials to sustain life
• Giving those people access to clean and safe drinking water
• Giving those in need a chance to stand on their own feet by supporting them to provide for themselves

The long term plan is to work with the communities in Kenya to break the cycle of poverty through Education.
